Frequently asked questions

I already own QuickBooks POS. Why pay for Rundoo?
QuickBooks POS is paid for, but Intuit stopped supporting it in 2023, and the work it does not do is being done by hand. Most stores are also still paying Intuit for QuickBooks alongside it, and often for something to connect the two. You pay Rundoo one subscription that covers the software, support, updates and hosting, and there is no cap on how many people use it. What you pay depends on how many locations you have, so book a demo and we will quote your store.
It still works. What actually happens if I wait?
Nothing, until something breaks. QuickBooks POS is not getting updates or fixes any more, so the day the file corrupts or the machine dies, there is no one to call and no version to upgrade to. Most stores we talk to are one hard drive away from a very bad week, and the ones who move early do it on their own schedule rather than in the middle of a season.
Does Rundoo work with QuickBooks?
Yes. Rundoo syncs to QuickBooks Online automatically, and for QuickBooks Desktop it exports on a schedule that you import into QuickBooks. Either way you keep QuickBooks for your accounting and payroll.
What happens if the internet goes down?
You keep selling on a hotspot. Rundoo runs in the browser, so a phone hotspot or a backup cellular box keeps the counter going, and cell service holds up better than wired internet in exactly the situations that take a store offline. During a citywide outage Ashmore Paint stayed open and kept taking cards while the shop down the road closed for the day. There is more in where is the offline mode.
Who do I call when something breaks?
You call Rundoo directly. Support is US-based and included in your subscription, and we resolve 96% of cases within 24 hours. There is no separate support contract to keep current and no reseller in between.
Can you get my data out of QuickBooks POS?
Yes, from the standard QuickBooks POS export. Your implementation manager walks you through exactly what came across for your store before you pick a go-live date, so you see it rather than take our word for it.
How long does the switch take?
Most stores take about one month. You have four planning meetings, one a week, and then training and go-live. Some stores have done it in a week, and large multi-location rollouts take longer.
How long before my staff can use it?
Training is four short sessions. We train your admin first, everyone practices in a sandbox before go-live, and your implementation manager is with you on the day.
