The problem
The software running independent supply stores is old, slow, and stitched together from unconnected parts.
The independents
We build for the owner-operator store that keeps a town supplied, whether that's a paint store, hardware store, farm and feed store, garden center, lumber yard, pet supply store, or something in between.
What we believe
A partner first, a product second. We start by getting to know your store so we build the product you actually need, and then we keep showing up: we answer the phone, we visit your stores, and we stay invested in giving you phenomenal technology.
Our story
Rundoo started in 2021. But really, the story started long before that. As is the case with many independent supply stores, it all started through family connections. Our co-founders, Nick and Andrew, both grew up with family in the trades, so they had a shared sense of the grind and grit involved in the industry.
After graduating from Stanford and spending time at Apple and Google, everything clicked. They had the skills, the understanding, and the enthusiasm to create a product that would help power these businesses in a way that other systems were not. So they started with building a solid foundation, the POS. Then they connected the parts: inventory, payments, accounting, the Staff app and Customer app, and an online store.
More recently, we built AI directly into the product with Dooey. Available on every screen, Dooey is there whenever you need to Analyze, Act, and Automate.

The team
The people behind Rundoo.
There are more than 75 Dooers mostly split between two offices, R&D in Redwood City and go-to-market in Chicago, backed by leading technology investors. The walls are covered in signed t-shirts from the stores we serve, which is the only org chart that really matters to us.
