## Every supply store has its story

Independent supply stores are the cornerstones of our neighborhoods. Most of us can still picture our local paint, hardware, or farm store, whether that's popping in on a Saturday to grab something, or running our first solo errand there.

When Nick and Andrew started Rundoo, it was because they believed in these independent stores, but it's always been about more than just the business. We are all drawn in by the people standing behind the counters. Whether they are multi-generational stores or first-generation operations, we've heard about bizarre situations, pivotal moments, and some truly unforgettable characters.

The Supply Stories podcast gives these owners a chance to share those experiences, and gives you a chance to hear them.

### “We’re Not Going Back”: Tom King, King's Paint & Paper

Tom runs the second-generation Benjamin Moore paint store his dad and uncle started in 1976, and in December 2022 he became the very first store to run Rundoo. He and Nick talk through taking over a family business, keeping contractor accounts current, and what it takes for a shop that never called itself cutting edge to decide that it now is. He also tells us some great anecdotes about the entertaining characters he's met along the way, some of whom he may be related to.
