I'm a fourth-generation Goularte at Hollister Paints, having started during my college summers, which led me to skip returning to college altogether. Our business is built on family (my mom is still part of the team!) and exceptional customer service. We’re always organizing and tidying up, and it’s safe to say I love keeping things neat, maybe even a touch of perfectionism! ‍ In January 2022, Nick approached us with Rundoo’s vision and asked for feedback. I shared what I needed in a POS system, and a few months later, he returned with a version that included all my requests. His attentiveness was a key reason we switched. With [QuickBooks Point of Sale](/switch/quickbooks-pos/index.md) shutting down, I explored other options, but none had Rundoo’s features. Being able to check sales from any computer or mobile app, instead of constantly calling my manager, has been a game changer. ‍ A big challenge we faced was contractors complaining about unauthorized purchases on their accounts. Rundoo solved this by requiring a PO, job location, and buyer details for charge accounts. Many of its features came from our collaboration: I shared what a paint shop truly needs, and Nick incorporated those insights into the product. We felt like active members of the Rundoo team. ‍ Our transition was seamless. Nick spent an entire day in our store, training us and helping with transactions. That level of customer service is rare. Rundoo remains highly responsive: calls are answered immediately, and if they miss one, they call back right away. They lend a hand with everything, and always in a friendly manner. ‍ I understand why people resist change when they’ve found something that works. We felt the same way. But once you take that leap, it’s truly worth it.
